Mechanic receipt

A receipt is a paid invoice. Fill in the job, enter the amount paid and how, and the PDF shows paid and balance due.

What to put on an auto repair receipt

  • Your shop name, phone and license number, and the customer's name.
  • The vehicle and odometer reading.
  • Parts and labor, each with its price, and the total.
  • Amount paid, payment method (cash, card, check, Zelle) and date.
  • Warranty terms, so the customer knows what's covered if the part fails.

Enter the payment under Invoice details → Amount paid. If the customer paid in full, the PDF shows a zero balance due.

Is a receipt different from an invoice?

An invoice asks for payment; a receipt confirms it was received. For a repair paid on pickup, one document showing the total, the payment and a zero balance works as both.
